Solar Applied Materials takes License of RNT’s NanoBond® Process Technology

Solartech to leverage use of NanoFoil® for Sputter Target Bonding

HUNT VALLEY, MD – Reactive NanoTechnologies, Inc. (RNT), developer and manufacturer of its patented NanoFoil®, today announced that Solar Applied Materials Technology Corp (Solartech) of Tainan, Taiwan a supplier of manufacturing, refining and marketing of precious metals, specialty chemicals, and sputtering targets, has entered into a license agreement for the use of RNT’s NanoFoil® and NanoBond® technologies. Solartech has capitalized its facility in No.1 , Sec. 2, Huanyuan E. Rd.,Tainan County Dasinying Industrial Park, Liuying Township, Tainan County, Taiwan (R.O.C) 73659, Taiwan to bond sputter targets using RNT’s patented room temperature bonding technique. NanoBond® is used to bond sputter targets with the additional benefits of minimizing the CTE mismatch of target and backing plate materials, improving the overall performance of target assemblies in use, and providing a more environmentally friendly process solution.

Solartech has completed RNT’s Level 1 Certification Training at RNT’s facility in Hunt Valley, MD and expected to offer NanoBond® services to its customers beginning in Q4 2009.

“We welcome Solartech to RNT’s family of licensees,” stated Michael P. O’Neill, RNT’s Global Vice President of Sales. “Solartech is the prominent supplier of materials and bonding services in Taiwan for FPD, data storage, and other thin film applications. We are excited that Solartech views NanoBond® as a technology platform to further fuel the growth of their already successful materials business”.

Meanwhile, Solartech President Dr. Chien-Yung Ma pointed out that “We are excited to have NanoBond® technology certified by RNT. RNT has long been a leading technique and technology developer of sputter targets bonding. Through the license authorized by RNT, Solartech believes that NanoBond® will help Solartech in promoting its technology for FPD and PV related industries and expand its service scope for customers worldwide. Solartech will manufacture more state-of-the-art bonded targets and provide a standard footprint for this technology across industry, making it easier for customers to use these components in their products.
